Night Exposure Shots

This one happens to be my favorite night shot I took last weekend on a tripod out in front of my apartment. Next time I decide to take these types of shots I’ll go where the lights and traffic are a little heavier (in Owosso) and see what I can get. Hope you enjoy this one too!

So I’ve been taking up Photography again, since I used to love it in High School. I went out and bought a new camera, and well the rest is through pictures. I wanted to share a few that I enjoyed taking, and some that really show so creative/artistic side of me. Now if only this new found talent will come over to the graphic design work that I need done I’ll be all set! Hope you guys enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Tumblr vs. Blog?

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

So I was listening to Net@Nite the other day and decided that I could post to 1 place and have it actually go out to various places.  I think what I might start doing is either posting here or through something and then have a lot of different places get updated.  Currently I have a Twitter, Blog, Jaiku, and Tumblr accounts.  So what I’d like is to have one place to work that will update these.  This place I’d like to have is something that would work with all of these places. I’m currently testing egorcast to see if this is something that will help me with some of these.  Hopefully it will work correctly! :) We’ll see though.

I know this is my second post today, however, I wanted to test some stuff because I’ve set up my Tumblr account to except my Blog posts so that I’m not having to double post.  Now the nice thing I like about Tumblr is that I can create real short posts about a video, picture, quote, IM, etc and it’s super simple! What I find a little harder with a blog is that I am always having to check comments, making the posts look nice and “professional,” which by the way, I don’t think these are going to continue looking professional, as this blog is really something about my technology experience.  That being said I think that what this blog will end up as is a lot of my frustrations, videos, tutorials, etc.

Setting up Ruby on Rails on Vista

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

So I bought a new computer this week and of course it’s got Windows Vista on it. For those that I don’t talk to everyday, I use Vista at work, and have been since January.  I have to say that I really do not like this new operating system.  There are some features that I do like it, however, if you do not have at least 2GB of Ram in the computer Vista is SLOW!!!! Currently, I’m barely running anything, Firefox and AIM, and I’m using 75% of my memory! This is pathetic! I’m really seriously considering looking into purchasing an XP license and installing that on here.

Anyways, I haven’t really seen a lot of people that have really tried to install Ruby on Rails on Vista, so today I decided that I wanted to take a chance and see what happened.  I first tried to use InstantRails, however I was unsuccessful about it.  I then decided to just install Ruby/Rails, and MySQL all together on the machine.  This I had no trouble with.  I’m not sure what exactly was going on with InstantRails, but I might try to give it another try later.  I’ll give you some more info later when I get an application actually working correctly on here! :)
